How soon is safe to apply sunscreen to a new tattoo?
I've had my tattoo for a week, and is doing wonderfully! I diligently followed the aftercare instructions my artist ever. My question is regarding the use of sunscreen. The tattoo has peeled and now kind of grain / dry but very clean, in the light. I have no plans to be in the sun directly with the (I do not expose or roam the beaches, etc), but I wonder if the sunscreen the tattoo is desirable however, for when I may * indirectly be exposed to the sun. These could include gardening, is in the yard, playing with dogs, going for walks, etc. The tattoo is on my inner wrist, so no "showing" all the time. At this point, would be a sunscreen appropriate, or irritating? I bought a stick Neutrogena SPF 30 sunscreen is like a smaller version of a deodorant stick:) and I'm not sure if ingredients harm or fade, or irritate my newly inked tattoo. Could someone with experience in advising on this, please? Thanks so much!
It only takes about a week (or 2 at most) for your tattoo to heal. After that you should put the sunscreen if you are in direct sunlight, especially if you have color in it! I've never black and gray Tattoos 3 and I put sunscreen on them and are fine, but I know people who have colored tattoos fade very faster because they do not use sunscreen. Anyway, put sunscreen on your tattoos, while heal is never a bad thing!
